Barnwell Bio is building a data platform to monitor health and wellness of livestock and poultry via environmental samples like manure and waste streams - this is a cost effective, proactive, and non-invasive way to provide actionable insights on animal health. With incidents like avian flu sweeping through cattle and poultry populations only increasing, there is a pressing need for more robust intelligence in the global meat and dairy industry. For farmers and vets, our product will offer an early warning signal of emerging outbreaks, and the ability to act fast to control the damage. The Barnwell founding team comes from the company that started and scaled the nation's first Covid-19 wastewater monitoring system, and is supported by veterinary and agriculture experts from UC Davis, University of Wisconsin Madison, and the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR).
