RWEA (Romanian Wind Energy Association) is a non-profit organization established in 2008 that represents the wind energy sector in Romania. It acts as a central voice for the industry, engaging in policy dialogue, regulatory advocacy, and research to promote renewable energy, particularly wind power. With around 50 members, RWEA represents a significant portion of Romania's wind power capacity, contributing to approximately 2,700 MW of the country's total 3,000 MW installed capacity. The association provides valuable networking and learning opportunities for its members, facilitating discussions with regulatory authorities to address industry challenges. RWEA is involved in policy advocacy to create a supportive legal framework for its members and participates in initiatives aimed at localizing the renewable energy value chain in Romania. Looking ahead, RWEA emphasizes the potential of offshore wind energy as a growth area, actively shaping the regulatory framework for future projects in the Black Sea.
