Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development is a not-for-profit initiative established in 2007 by the Abu Dhabi government to support Emirati entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The fund aims to diversify the UAE’s economy by providing funding, mentorship, and market access. It has generated over 15,000 jobs and funded more than 1,200 SMEs, disbursing over AED 1.3 billion in financial support. The fund offers various services, including microfinance for startups, support for home-based businesses, and growth-stage funding. It also provides training programs in business management and operational efficiency, along with mentorship for scaling businesses. Khalifa Fund facilitates franchising opportunities and runs programs like the Venturist Entrepreneur Summer Camp to inspire youth entrepreneurship. With a membership of over 5,000 entrepreneurs, the fund collaborates with government and private sector partners to enhance market opportunities across various sectors, including agriculture, technology, and franchising.
