The Timchenko Foundation is the abbreviated name of the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation, which was established in Moscow in 2010 and known as the Ladoga Foundation until the end of August 2013. The Foundation's work is directed towards solving Russia's social problems systemically. Some of its key focus areas include: providing support to the older generation; developing sport and culture; and helping families and children. By establishing long-term partnerships with non-governmental organisations, government agencies and local authorities, we are addressing social issues and aiding the development of local charities. We think it is important that anything launched by the Foundation should be self-sustaining in the future. Our work is underpinned by the principles of transparency and personal responsibility undertaken by the founders, the Timchenkos, who have been involved in charitable causes for over twenty years. Employing and maintaining the best practices used by charities both in Russia and globally, we are shaping the future of family philanthropy in Russia, making it open, consistent and focused on long-term sustainability.
