Danmarks Meteorologiske Institut (DMI) is Denmark's national meteorological service, established in 1872 and operating under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities. Based in Copenhagen, DMI provides weather forecasts, climate monitoring, and specialized meteorological services for Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. DMI's core services include daily weather predictions, severe weather warnings, and climate trend analysis. It also offers marine and oceanic monitoring, including storm surge warnings, ice charting, and satellite surveillance. The institute publishes long-term climate data and collaborates on international climate research. Additionally, DMI provides consultancy services, including customized forecasts and ocean data analysis. With a team of approximately 380–400 staff and a budget of 285 million DKK, DMI serves various sectors, including governmental, maritime, and public entities. Its operational infrastructure includes high-performance supercomputing systems and advanced data networks for real-time data transfer. DMI's motto is "Vi klæder dig på til fremtidens vejr," which translates to "We equip you for tomorrow’s weather."
