OPEKEPE Payment and Control Agency for Guidance and Guarantee Community Aid is a Greek public agency established in 2001. It operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food and serves as the Greek Payment Authority for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Aid Schemes. The agency is responsible for the control and payment of beneficiaries in accordance with European and national laws. OPEKEPE manages approximately €3 billion in community subsidies each year, benefiting nearly 900,000 recipients, including farmers, farmer associations, export companies, and agricultural investors. The agency verifies eligibility, controls subsidy claims, and ensures proper payment of agricultural aid. With its headquarters in Athens, OPEKEPE has six regional branch directorates, four regional units, and 39 local offices to effectively administer and oversee subsidy distribution and compliance.
