Founded in 1976, the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) is a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science and ICT (information communication technology). KIMM’s mission is to contribute to economic growth of the nation by performing research & development (R&D) on key technologies in the area of mechanical engineering. KIMM conducts reliability tests, evaluates machine components and materials, and commercializes the developed products or machineries through technology transfer and support. KIMM’s research interests are widely spread from the nano-scale to macroscale and cover six research divisions; Autonomous Manufacturing, Carbon-neutral Energy Machinery, Nano-Convergence Manufacturing, AI Robotics, Eco-friendly Energy and Environment, and Virtual Engineering Platform. Apart from the main headquarter located in Daejeon, KIMM also has three regional research centers in Busan, Daegu, and Gimhae. Respectively, these research centers specialize in Laser & Automotive Parts & Nuclear Safety, Medical Devices & Robotics, and LNG and Cryogenic Technology. With the development of cutting-edge, pioneering technologies, KIMM collaborates with industries to create a mutually beneficial environment for both industry and research. We also strive to support and promote science and technology in order to create a research-friendly environment. KIMM looks forward to working with and partnering with eminent research institutes in the world, since we believe that advancement of science and technology has no national boundaries. With such an effort, KIMM is trying to make the people happier and the future brighter. https://www.kimm.re.kr/eng https://www.youtube.com/@KIMMTUBE https://www.instagram.com/kimm.stagram/ https://www.facebook.com/gotokimm
