The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) is the official state-run news wire service of Kuwait, established in 1956 and reorganized in 1976 as an autonomous entity under the Ministry of Information. Headquartered in Shuwaikh, Al Asimah, KUNA serves as a primary source of news for Kuwait and the Arab region, focusing on political, economic, social, and cultural developments. KUNA maintains a global presence with correspondents and offices in 33 countries. It provides specialized news coverage, including a section dedicated to Health and Environment. The agency also publishes historical documentation, such as the multi-volume series "Today in Kuwait’s History," which chronicles significant national events. As an active member of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), KUNA collaborates with other Arab national agencies to enhance news dissemination across the region.
