The company was formed in 1999, when Geffen Records and A&M Records were merged into Interscope Records. IGA also encompasses A&M/Octone Records, Aftermath Entertainment, Cherrytree Records, Fontana Records, Mosley Music Group, Star Trak Entertainment, Suretone Records and will.i.am music group. It also distributes newer releases by the UK-based Polydor Records in the United States and Canada.
