LOFAR ERIC coordinates the development and efficient operation of LOFAR, a vital radio astronomy instrument for world-class scientific research. LOFAR, the LOw Frequency ARray, is the largest and most sensitive radio telescope operating at low radio frequencies. It consists of antenna stations across Europe, producing a highly flexible and agile observing system. LOFAR's capabilities include conducting sensitive cosmological studies, deep large-sky radio source surveys, and studying pulsars, transient radio phenomena, and cosmic rays.
