The Anker Research Institute (ARI) is a research organization dedicated to establishing global standards for living wages and incomes. Founded by Richard and Martha Anker, ARI conducts localized research to create living wage benchmarks worldwide. It collaborates with the Global Living Wage Coalition and other stakeholders to influence corporate practices, public policy, and worker advocacy, ensuring that workers can achieve a decent standard of living. ARI produces country-specific living wage estimates using the Anker Methodology, which incorporates both primary and secondary data. The organization publishes benchmark studies for over 200 locations across more than 30 countries and provides training and advocacy to companies, governments, and NGOs on implementing living wage policies. ARI also focuses on refining its methodology to promote transparency and comparability in living wage calculations, contributing to informed policy decisions and labor rights initiatives.
