World Vision is a global Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to tackling the causes of poverty and injustice through international relief and community development programmes. World Vision Hong Kong was first established as a field office supporting relief work on Typhoon Wanda in 1962. World Vision Hong Kong then turned itself from a field office into a fundraising office in 1982, supporting the relief and development work of World Vision offices worldwide. Today, the people of Hong Kong are sponsoring over 200,000 children living in poverty through international long-term Area Development Programmes. World Vision Hong Kong also promotes public education, raising public awareness about global issues such as poverty, hunger, health and child rights.
