From Simple Beginnings: Security State Bank & Trust was born in the heart of Fredericksburg, Texas. In 1941, a group of local businessmen saw a need for a new bank to better serve the community's needs. We officially opened for business in the former Buckhorn Saloon building at 201 West Main Street where we still reside. The white-tailed deer is used in our logo as a salute to the simple beginnings of our first property. When times get tough, the tough grow. In the late 1980's, while other banks throughout Texas were experiencing difficulty and turmoil, we maintained solid financial performance. This provided the opportunity to grow the market base through acquisitions and new branches. We now have branches in 17 Texas Hill Country communities and remain poised for continued growth as a strong privately owned community bank.
