Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (Nama PWP), established in 2004 and based in Muscat, Oman, is the sole purchaser of electricity and desalinated water in the Sultanate of Oman. As part of the Nama Group, it plays a vital role in securing production capacity to meet the growing demand for power and water across the country. The company acts as the exclusive buyer from independent power producers (IPPs) and independent water and power producers (IWPPs). It manages the import and export of electrical energy and coordinates with various stakeholders to ensure a reliable supply of electricity and water. Nama PWP prepares an annual 7-Year Statement to identify new projects for competitive tendering, supporting sustainable development and economic growth in Oman. By procuring capacity and output from private sector projects, Nama PWP ensures that government utilities and the broader population have access to essential resources. Its mission focuses on accurately forecasting demand and providing reliable power and water at the lowest economic cost, positioning it as a leader in sustainable procurement in the region.
