Established by the ASEAN Leaders in December 1997, the ASEAN Foundation was mandated to strengthen people-to-people interaction, increase participation, and develop human resource potential of ASEAN people, as well as to alleviate poverty and bring about shared prosperity in the region. For more than 20 years, we have been steadfastly building strong partnerships with diverse institutions, from Governmental bodies, International Non-Governmental Organisations, to Private Sectors, to implement initiatives under our four thematic areas of Education, Arts and Culture, Media, and Community Building. Through these programmes, we actively equip ASEAN citizens, including students and young professionals, with ASEAN awareness, multicultural learnings, and essential skills that enable them to contribute to the development of a prosperous, peaceful, and caring ASEAN Community.
