Lootah Biofuels is a Dubai-based company founded in 2010, dedicated to producing sustainable biofuels by recycling used cooking oil (UCO). As a subsidiary of the S.S. Lootah Group, it was the first in the Gulf region to convert UCO into biodiesel, supporting the UAE’s vision for sustainable development and clean energy. The company operates one of the largest biodiesel processing facilities in the Middle East, with an annual production capacity of around 53,000 tons. Their production process includes filtration, dewatering, and transesterification, resulting in high-quality biodiesel that meets international quality standards. Lootah Biofuels also focuses on expanding into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and has established partnerships to support the aviation sector in Dubai. In addition to producing biodiesel for local transportation and aviation markets, Lootah Biofuels collects used cooking oil from various sectors, including restaurants and households, promoting circular economy principles. The company is committed to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing environmental sustainability through its innovative recycling efforts.
