Air Selangor is Malaysia's leading water services provider, supplying safe and drinkable water to about 8.4 million consumers in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. We operate 34 water treatment plants located in eleven (11) regions, namely Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Langat, Sepang, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Hulu Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Federal Territory of Putrajaya. Our journey as the single holistic licensee to abstract, treat and distribute water began on 13 September 2019, following the restructuring of the state water service industry. The restructuring began in 2008, when the Selangor government gave Air Selangor Holdings Berhad (formerly known as Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd [KDEB]) the mandate to lead and consolidate the water industry, which at that point involved five (5) different concession companies. These private concessionaires, namely Puncak Niaga Sdn Bhd (PNSB Water), Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas), Konsortium ABASS Sdn Bhd (ABASS), Konsortium Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (KASB) and Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Sdn Bhd were acquired and merged under one entity named Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor). This exercise was undertaken to ensure that as a single entity Air Selangor can successfully drive and achieve the key strategic objective to integrate the water treatment and distribution operations more effectively and efficiently. Thus, our mission and vision are to deliver the best experience to our customers as we strive to become the leading water services provider in Asia by 2030.
