Established in 1906, Maccabi Tel Aviv FC was the first Israeli football team and is currently the most titled and successful club in Israeli football. Having won 24 League Championships, 24 State Cups, 4 Toto Cups and 2 Asian Cups, Maccabi Tel Aviv is the only Israeli football club never to have been relegated from the Israeli Premier League and is one of the most powerful Israeli brand names both domestically and internationally. Maccabi Tel Aviv is one of only three Israeli teams to have qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stages. Consistently competing in Europe is crucial for the club’s expansion and growth and in Maccabi’s progression in becoming a strong name in the European football arena. The name Maccabi is deeply rooted in Jewish history, standing for freedom, tradition and sovereignty. The yellow of the team's kit represents the yellow badges and armbands which European Jews were forced to wear during World War II and the blue represents the Israeli flag. Maccabi Tel Aviv has the largest and most successful youth program in Israel, investing, nurturing and developing young talent, promoting a strong correlation between football, education and health, and enhancing a holistic approach through coaches, teachers, young players and the local community. Maccabi currently operates three football academies in the Tel Aviv area with over 1,000 young players training in our yellow kit.
