The Irish Farmers Association (IFA) is the largest representative organization for farmers and primary food producers in Ireland. Founded in 1955 and based in Dublin, the IFA has a strong network with 947 branches and 29 county executives throughout the country. Its mission is to protect the interests of Irish farmers, focusing on improving farm incomes and addressing challenges in food production. The IFA provides essential services to its members, including representation and lobbying at national and European levels, individual support and advice on farming issues, and access to insurance and financial services through its role in establishing Farmer Business Developments (FBD). The organization also contributes to market development initiatives, such as Cork Marts-IMP and the Irish Farm Accounts Co-operative. With approximately 72,000 members, the IFA serves as a collective voice for the diverse farming community in Ireland.
