The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is the global governing body for table tennis, established on December 12, 1926. Headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, the ITTF has 227 member associations and is responsible for overseeing the rules and regulations of the sport, promoting technological advancements, and organizing international competitions, including the World Table Tennis Championships. The ITTF focuses on event organization, rule governance, and providing support to its member associations. It also plays a role in approving and regulating equipment used in the sport. In 2019, the ITTF launched World Table Tennis (WTT) to enhance the commercial and professional aspects of table tennis tournaments.
