CAJAMAR Caja Rural, Sociedad Cooperativa de Crédito (Co-operative Credit Society) is the result of the fusion of the Rural Savings banks of Almería and Madrid (1986) and of Caja Rural del Duero (2000), and the incorporation of the co-operatives Campo de Cartagena (1989) and Grumeco (2000). It is the leading bank in the Cajamar Cooperative Group, which attends to and provides financial services to over 2.2 million customers, with 957 branches and over 4,400 employees in 35 provinces located in eleven autonomous regions of Spain. It is Spain's leading rural savings bank, and is considered one of the sector's most active and efficient entities thanks to the significant growth of its equity capital and balance sheet. Among the more than two hundred banks, savings banks and credit co-operatives operating in Spain, CAJAMAR CAJA RURAL is in the top twenty entities in the national ranking, with assets of over 26,400 million euros and a managed business volume worth over 41,400 million euros. Its presence today extends to the regions of Andalucía, Aragón, Asturias, Baleares, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Cataluña, Madrid, Comunidad Valenciana and Murcia, as well as the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
