Nekton is a global network advancing the scientific exploration of the ocean. By bringing together researchers, governments, media, philanthropy, and the private sector, we strengthen access to ocean science and the capacity to explore the ocean equitably and effectively. Recognising the ocean as a single, interconnected system, Nekton’s programmes work to deepen understanding and secure a thriving ocean that supports biodiversity, sustains life, and underpins livelihoods. Protecting the ocean is in all of our interests. It’s fundamental to the planet’s and our survival because this is Planet Ocean more than it is Planet Earth. Our client is the ocean. We undertake Missions and Programmes - driven by urgency, curiosity and the determination to use the knowledge we gain about the ocean, to serve people and our planet.
